James Lohman

Mr. James Lohman, holds a Bachelor of Music (Instrumental Performance) Degree from California State University, Sacramento. While studying at CSUS, Mr. Lohman was a member of the CSUS Wind Ensemble, CSUS Marching Band, Saxophone Quartets, University Chorus, and played in the CSUS Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Lohman studied saxophone performance with Dr. Jack Foote, french horn performance with Peter Nowlen, and conducting with Dr. Robert Halseth.  Upon completion of his CSUS degree, Mr. Lohman received a California Teaching Credential through Chapman University, and is currently studying to receive a Master of Arts in Education degree with an emphasis in school curriculum and instruction.
Mr. Lohman conducted for the Sacramento Youth Bands Association for 10 years, and has performed in a variety of Musical Theater Orchestras throughout the Sacramento Valley both as an instrumentalist and a conductor. His professional affiliations include the California Association of Music Educators, California Band Director’s Association, the Music Educator’s National Conference, and Northern California Bands Association.
His teaching career includes many public school positions in the Sacramento City Unified School District, as well as positions at Pierce, Williams, and San Juan Unified.  Mr. Lohman is currently employed as an Instrumental Music Specialist, for the Yuba City USD, River Valley Falcon Band, April Lane/ Gray Avenue/ Central Gaither/ Bridge Street Orchestra
